Dynamite; $17.99

TNT’s fantasy-adventure series, The Librarians, made the move from small screen to comics in 2017 with a four-issue miniseries. The series follows an organization known as the Librarians who are charged with investigating strange occurrences, battling ancient conspiracies, and protecting the world from the secret, magical reality hidden all around them.

Flynn Carsen, a man with over 20 degrees and an impossibly quick mind, has been the solo Librarian for ten years. Now, he is joined by new recruits Jack Stone (an art history genius), Cassandra Cillian (a math whiz with synesthesia), and Ezekiel Jones (a world class thief). They are protected by their Guardian Eve Baird (a former NATO soldier) and the Library’s reclusive caretaker Jenkins.

The story begins when movie producer Sol Schick, who was behind cheesy ‘70s classics, is killed at a film festival. The murder itself is not what catches the Librarians’ attention, but rather the murder weapon – a piece of Noah’s Ark! Using their combination of special skills, obsessive curiosity, and knowledge of forgotten lore, the team must uncover what led to Schick’s death? But as they delve deeper into his past, they quickly realize things are not as they seem.

Written by Will Pfeiffer with art by Rodney Buchemi, this miniseries expertly brings the globe-trotting, magical adventures of the TV show to life. Pfeifer perfectly captured the many voices within The Librarians and crafted a mystery any fan of the show is sure to enjoy. Meanwhile, the detailed art by Rodney Buchemi places readers right in the heart of the action.
