Capping off their first year of being back in comic shops – Silverline first returned as a crowdfunded publisher before jumping back into the direct market – Roland Mann and company have put together a Christmas-themed anthology that features short stories from three of their popular series, Trumps, Kayless, and Twilight Grimm. All three stories are very different, so there’s a good bit of variety in the issue.

Those who haven’t checked out Trumps to date (it’s a pretty intriguing concept) might find the first story a bit confusing, but the characters and situations are pretty compelling even with that. The Kayless story is a grim, gritty, and desperate adventure, and writer R.A. Jones and artist Rob Davis wrap up the issue with a meaty Twilight Grimm adventure.

What the three stories have in common with each other and the company’s offerings to date is that they’re done by creators who love comics. We need more of that.
