The Cattanooga Cats is a rocking band of anthropomorphic hippy cats that starred in their own animated series over 50 years ago. The cartoon shared similarities with other bubblegum pop band shows like The Archies and The Monkees. Produced by Hanna-Barbera, The Cattanooga Cats ran from September 6, 1969 to September 4, 1971.

The band was led by Country as the lead singer and guitarist, Kitty Jo was the singer and dancer, Scoots played bass, and Groove was on drums. The band traveled in their van from gig to gig, getting into trouble and weird situations, and meeting their fans. The Cattanooga Cats adventures included avoiding a witch who wanted to make Kitty Jo her replacement, teaching a princess how to do their dance moves, getting locked in a museum, being followed by Chessie the autograph hound. They even traveled to the Sahara Desert and Madrid.

The voice cast included William Callaway as Country, Julie Bennett as Kitty Jo, Jim Begg as Scoots, Casey Kasem as Groove, Marty Ingels as Autocat, Paul Lynde as Mildew Wolf, Allen Melvin as Bristle Hound, and Janet Waldo as Jenny Trent. Michael Lloyd and Peggy Clinger provided the singing vocals.
