Now, Jasper is barely hanging on to life in the care of Cecil, the wealthy ex-husband, father, and captor who wants Madison and Silver back. Wyatt is in a very difficult position with a desperate woman in his home, his brother in danger, and the possibility of something even worse that he doesn’t know about yet.

Two issues in, and Sins of the Salton Sea by writer Ed Brisson and artist C.P. Smith is really good. The characters are tough and morally ambiguous, which means even the protagonist is somewhat unpredictable, rather than being a standard issue hero. The art is focused on closeups that give the book intensity and urgency.
