Namor the Sub-Mariner has been a part of comics since the very first Timely/Marvel comic book, 1939’s Marvel Comics #1. Sub-Mariner Comics #1 was the first self-titled comic book to feature the character. The Sub-Mariner remains highly relevant 86 years after his creation, with the recent announcement that he will be a part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s Avengers: Doomsday in 2026.
