Superman TV Spot Includes New Footage
The Man of Steel made an appearance during the NFL conference championship games on Sunday, January 26, 2025. No, Clark Kent wasn’t on the football field, he was flying through a new TV spot during the games.
The 30-second TV trailer features a good bit of footage from the first teaser trailer, but there are a few new shots. The “Icon” spot shows Lex Luthor (Nicholas Hoult) disembarking from a plane in a snowy climate and Superman (David Corenswet) flying directly toward the camera, over a snow-covered landscape.
Directed by James Gunn, Superman is the first movie in Gunn and Peter Safran’s “Gods and Monsters” film series. It is set at a time when Superman is already operating as superhero in Metropolis and Clark is a reporter for the Daily Planet.
The movie also stars Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane, Milly Alcock as Kara Zor-El/Supergirl, Wendell Pierce as Perry White, Skyler Gisondo as Jimmy Olsen, Nathan Fillion as Guy Gardner/Green Lantern, Isabela Merced as Kendra Saunders/Hawkgirl, Edi Gathegi as Michael Holt/Mister Terrific, Sean Gunn as Maxwell Lord, Maria Gabriela de Faria as Angela Spica/the Engineer, Anthony Carrigan as Rex Mason/Metamorphosis, Frank Grillo as Rick Flag Sr., Neva Howel as Martha Kent, and Pruitt Taylor Vince as Jonathan Kent.
Superman will arrive in theaters on July 11, 2025.
