Splinter and the Turtles are now in control of the Foot Clan. But some of the members aren’t happy working for the good guys. This led an assassin within the Foot to start the group, Street Phantoms, for reasons yet to be established.
This is one heck of an issue. Michelangelo is still missing, Leonardo and Alopex train the Foot clan in new ways of combat, and Master Splinter meets with Kitsune and is soon attacked by assassins. Leo and Alopex try to help Splinter, but the assassins they face are using witchcraft, making themselves nearly invincible to attack. Meanwhile Casey Jones is on the streets putting a hurt on anyone who looks at him funny as a result of his recent mind bending trip with April. Mikey’s location and intentions are finally revealed, but it turns out the Turtles aren’t the only ones wondering where he is.
A lot happened in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles #52, written by Tom Waltz, based on the story by Kevin Eastman, Bobby Curnow, and Waltz. The Turtles story continues to get more and more interesting as they must deal with the supernatural, new enemies, and turning the Foot into heroes instead of villains. Ken Garing’s art and Ronda Pattison’s colors bring more depth to the story and intensity to the action. It’s a great issue for all TMNT fans.
