Terminator #3

Dynamite; $4.99
It’s the Vietnam War and Private Edward Duggan is desperately crossing the countryside to find his treasure before he is sent home. But dodging bullets from the opposing forces isn’t the only thing threatening Eddie’s life. With time running out before he can safely go home, Eddie is also being stalked by a Terminator that is killing anyone who gets in its way.
This two-issue story by Declan Shalvey was suspenseful the entire way through. First, Eddie is putting his chances of evacuation in danger (for a good reason that is revealed early in this issue), so it has a “race against the clock” element. Trying to avoid detection by soldiers goes totally awry when the Terminator shows up, and it gets even more intense when even tanks can’t stop the machine.
So far, this series is putting the focus on the visceral life and death aspect of Terminators, and it’s making for some entertaining reading.
