Titan; $3.99

Steven Hollis is a failing screenwriter who owed money to the wrong person and was tasked with killing a man to pay off his debt. The deed is to be done during a bachelor party in Mexico, but the situation took a sharp turn when the group sought to buy drugs and ended up in a violent confrontation that left people dead on the floor. Now, Steven, his buddy, and the guy he’s supposed to kill are on the run from Diego Hernandez, a high ranking general in the Mexico City drug cartel.

Things have gotten way out of control in The Loose End. Writer Dave Dwonch started out with a straightforward premise, then threw in a twist to further complicate Steven’s life. The pace is picked up significantly in this issue as the guys try to evade being captured and killed by drug dealers. Artist Travis Hymel and colorist Geraldo Filho do a great job of moving the story along through the action and chase scenes. There’s one issue left, and at this rate, anything could happen.
