The Mummy Comic Gets Connecting Covers
Skybound Entertainment and Image Comics are partnering with Universal Products & Experiences on a Universal Monsters: The Mummy limited series by writer/artist Faith Erin Hicks (Pumpkinheads). The four-issue comic will feature a connecting variant cover series by Guillem March (Karmen) capturing important moments between Helen Grosvenor and the Mummy.
“Helen Grosvenor is a woman born to two worlds and belonging in neither, forever haunted by a cursed encounter as a child. When unknown voices bring her back to an Egyptian dig site from her past, Helen will unknowingly play an unexpected role in the rise of a monster known only as…The Mummy!” per the description.
Hicks is joined on the series by colorist Lee Loughridge (Standstill). In addition to March’s connecting cover, the first issue features a lineup of variant covers by Joshua Middleton, Martin Simmonds, and Gabriel Rodriguez, as well as a blank sketch cover.
This is the fourth Universal Monsters comic, following James Tynion IV and Martin Simmonds’ Dracula, Ram V, Dan Watters, and Matthew Roberts’ Creature from the Black Lagoon Lives!, and Michael Walsh’s Frankenstein. It will be followed by more limited series starring classic monsters.
Universal Monsters: The Mummy will kick things off in comic shops on March 25, 2025.
