During the 1970s, Lee Majors thrilled audiences as astronaut turned bionic secret agent Steve Austin on The Six Million Dollar Man. While Austin’s adventures came to an end after almost 100 episodes and six films, Dynamite brought the sci-fi action back for a new miniseries.
It’s the 1970s. A time when there wasn’t internet, but there were cyborgs. Suited up with robo-parts and a laser eye, things are going great for Austin. The hero is partnering with Japanese secret agent Niko Abe to stop a mysterious madman from enacting his revenge against the United States. Dealing with combat samurai, KGB operatives, a secret assassination plot and more make this one complicated mission. But when his $6,000,000 body drastically depreciates in value to a mere $6, things get even more complicated for the broken down cyborg. Can Austin and Niko manage to save the day before time runs out?
The writing by Christopher Hastings (Secret Agent Deadpool) breathes new life into the cybernetic hero while capturing the nostalgia of the original TV series. Meanwhile, the action and drama are captured in full color by David Hahn (Batman ’66).
