Dark Horse Comics; $19.99

Torso, the 1999 Eisner Award Winner for Comic Book Excellence, is back in print with a new Jinxworld edition from Dark Horse. Like the new edition of Jinx recently reviewed in this space, it benefits greatly from the standard comic book size format and the superb paper stock. It’s a big improvement over the Marvel/Icon edition.

Co-writer and artist Brian Michael Bendis and co-writer Marc Andreyko give us their take on the true story of post-Untouchables Eliot Ness in Cleveland trying to solve a gruesome string of serial killings. It’s a compelling, complex story that remains as fresh as when it was originally published.
