In 2024, Upper Deck and DC Comics announced a partnership in which the trading card company would create a line based on the publisher’s popular characters. The DC Annual line, the first set in the agreement, is now available at UpperDeckStore.com and at hobby stores.

It showcases the DC trinity – Superman, Wonder Woman, and Batman – who are joined by many heroes and villains from Plastic Man to Joker. The set features artwork from DC covers, and in addition to the regular cards, the set has foils, lenticular cards, and even serial numbered holograms.

There are autograph cards signed by Tom Taylor, Nicola Scott, Mark Waid, and others, as well as signature sketch cards with original art and ready for action sketch booklets. The DC Annual Premieres cards feature art from a character’s first appearance, and there are Suspended Animation cards.

“As fans of DC ourselves here at Upper Deck, we’re all very excited for what’s to come from Warner Bros. Discovery and DC this year,” added Jason Masherah, President of Upper Deck. “As the comic book universe continues to evolve and we see an evolution of the fan-favorite Superman franchise, now is the time to start building your collection of quality trading cards that we anticipate will be a hot commodity for years to come.”

Upper Deck is currently working on more releases for 2025, including the Skybox Metal Universe Batman and Fleer Ultra Superman.
