The second part of “The Accursed” storyline follows Vampirella as she works with the Kabal to find Dr. Faustus, the infamous doctor. The story offers a background story on how the fabled doctor came to be in his current predicament. His bitterness has grown out of control leading him to try to perfect a deadly virus with the intention of unleashing it on humanity.

The story was written by Nancy A. Collins with art by Patrick Berkenkotter, main cover by Mike Mayhew, and variant cover by Jenny Frison. Berkenkotter’s artwork has a gothic, classic horror tone setting the stage for Collins’ story that intertwines fabled characters from some of fiction’s greatest stories.
