X-Men Key, Bruce Timm Art in Heritage Auctions
Heritage’s weekly auctions offer a key X-Men book, a Bruce Timm illustration, and an only known copy of an SNES game. The Comic Books Auction closes on Sunday through Tuesday, March 16-18, 2025, the Video Games Mini-Boss Auction wraps up on Tuesday, March 18, and the Comic Art & Illustration Auction ends on Wednesday, March 19.
In the comic auction, Heritage is selling an Archie’s Girls, Betty and Veronica file copies bound volume group of 38, containing over 400 issues from the Golden to Modern Ages. X-Men #94 CGC 9.8 is a key book with the first new story after five years of reprints.
The original art auction is led by Paul Pelletier and Matt Ryan’s Silver Surfer #132 story page 4 featuring a full body, partial splash of the Silver Surfer gliding through Manhattan. Bruce Timm applies his signature style from Batman: The Animated Series onto an illustration of Marvel’s Doctor Strange.
The video game auction kicks things off with Metal Combat: Falcon’s Revenge VGA 80 uncirculated, unopened for SNES, which is the only copy of the Not for Resale Value Pak variant, according to VGA. Another interesting piece is the vintage Nintendo “Video Games? Ask Me!” employee promotional apron worn in retail stores during the Super Nintendo era.
